About Me
Hi there, I'm BinoX (But the wiki didn't want me to have a capital letter at the end of my username. But either way - it is pronounced Buy-Nocks)
I may have made one of the more unpopular choices during OSDeving - I use Windows as my primary development platform. A lot of this is for convenience, as I am an avid gamer and use Steam as my primary gaming platform (as I have done for many years), so my highest spec machine is a Windows machine and I really didn't want to mess around with VMs (there's too much of that at my actual work)
As with most of the people on this wiki, I am writing an Operating System - currently known as BinOS. Work has been slow on this and I don't really have anything impressive to show. But future plans are good and I am slowly working towards my, somewhat unusual, goal (details on that when I actually get at least a bit of it working)
Current Work
I am playing with the Windows Subsystem for Linux (Beta), that was recently released with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and evaluating its uses as an OS Development platform. I am then updating the wiki with my findings.
As for OS Dev - I am working on an unusual HAL and also stripping out a lot of functionality from my OS that I have decided goes contrary to my goals (but was useful as a bit of test code, so no time wasted)
