Things I would like to see specified
- kB or KiB
- Intel or AT&T assembler syntax. Probably can't get consensus on this one.
I will add more when I think of them -Jhawthorn 21:39, 2 April 2007 (CDT)
- all units of bytes should go in powers of two - that means KiB, MiB, GiB are correct usage. However, KB, MB and GB are more common in usage and in most contexts here describe the same amount. See Wikipedia. Adding a note of preference for the KiB variant might be ok.
- Forcing intel or att syntax will only cause holy wars.
- There's also a request for the "See Also" style in the main page archive.
IMO you should ask these questions in the manual of style thread on the forum where people read it, get consensus on it, then merging it into the official manual of style.
Speaking of which, I think it is time the current version is merged into the wiki before I add above remarks - Combuster 02:34, 3 April 2007 (CDT)
