Merging

IMHO this page should be merged with and moved to OSDev Wiki:Manual Of Style. What do you think? - Walling 15:44, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Technically this page should be reverted to its redirect state. I must have missed it when the author replaced a redirect to the officially approved manual of style with their own version. - Combuster 16:31, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Although I like the (slightly more complete) example using tables. I'm not sure I get the thing about "Notes", and it took a while before I figured out that "See Also" is an example, and not actually a See Also section. I see you have a draft for a new Manual Of Style. I like that. What about we remove all links to this page and link to the one in the OSDev Wiki-namespace and delete/redirect this page. The old redirect is broken anyway, because it was to OSDevWiki-namespace (without space).. confusing. :) - Walling 16:55, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Go ahead and merge. I replaced the page back then because the redirect didn't work. I didn't know about the page in the OSDev Wiki namespace. Actually, I didn't know about any of those pages. They are not easy to find. About the notes thing, I used it in the table on this page. Virtlink 17:10, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay. That's done now. I merged them and set up a redirect. I think the reason the pages on OSDev Wiki namespace is hard to find is because of a lot of broken links. I've tried to fix that. - Walling 19:28, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Moved the talkpage here as well. Removed the boldface rule since that doesn't make much sense here where a lot of pages aren't constituting a definition, but often enough, a concept, compact description, question or tutorial. The new elaborations are fine but the other new rules should have been discussed prior to editing. It kindof feels like introducing wikipedia concepts and skipping the "make sure edits reflect consensus" part they put on top (maybe it was a bad idea to put it at the bottom here) - Combuster 20:22, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, maybe we should move some of it to OSDev Wiki:Editing to reflect that it's not rules you need to follow, but rather help in editing articles? - Walling 21:56, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
