While not exactly identical, this article describes a system very much like Scheduler Activations. These are described in this paper. This system has actually been implemented, while continuation system have not (to the best of my knowledge). I think the paper, while it is 27 pages long, gives a clearer picture of a very similar system. There is also a quantitative discussion of the benefits of this system - something only possible if it's actually been implemented.
If anyone has actually implemented continuations, perhaps you could post some benchmarks. Otherwise it seems like we should include this as a subsection on a Scheduler Activations page. --Speal 19:23, 4 March 2008 (CST)
