Pins 'n' connectors

I believe that it is serial ports that come in 9 and 25 pin varieties. I'm pretty sure Parallel is only 36 and 25. Can anybody confirm this? Yayyak 18:16, 23 March 2008 (CDT)

The parallel port has 8 data bits, and at least one V+ and V-. That's already more than the 9 pins you try to have on that connector. Google finds 36-pin parallel ports, I use both 9 and 25-pin serial ports. (Actually, I use UTP cables to connect serial ports over longer distances via converters, which have 8 pins/wires) - Combuster 04:37, 26 March 2008 (CDT)
