Talk:Unit Testing

Should this page be merged into a section within Testing? It could be put in the advanced matters section, but it could also be argued that Unit testing is a seperate enough topic to deserve it's own page. Yayyak 01:56, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

For now, keep them separate. This article is as large as the entire testing page and merging now would give the idea that two articles are crammed into one page. - Combuster 03:20, 31 August 2007 (CDT)

Regarding Combuster's last two edits, I don't think that's what the original author of the article had in mind. Notice that the two bullet points explain how unit testing can be used to improve the maintainability of a project, not how to develop or maintain the actual unit tests. IMO, the previous version did a better job at emphasizing what unit tests are useful for. The options are:

  • To leave it as-is.
  • To revert to the version before.
  • To revert but also have a section that covers the use of unit tests (however, is this the place?).
